A Perfect Wrestlemania

Updated on July 28, 2014

Disclaimer

This piece is completely hypothetical.
I'm not predicting that this card will ever actually be used or that it is even physically possible, only that it would be a really enjoyable pay per view... and maybe save the company.

Tag Team Championship Fatal Fourway

Goldust and Stardust vs. The Usos vs. The Wyatts vs. Kofi and Big E.

I know, the tag-team fatal fourway is tired, but there's no "Los Matadores" filler in here.
This match would be full of talented superstars just looking to make an impact.
Big E and Kofi are two of the companies biggest performers and a couple of former intercontinental champions. They would definitely wreck house for a while, but they would be the first to go.
After that, the Wyatts would eliminate the defending champs, electrifying the crowd as new champions were confirmed.
Then the biological relatives would reclaim their belts by defeating the Wyatts.
The Tag Team division hasn't been as good as it was when the Rhodes Brothers were champions, and in 2015, it would return to those heights.

Intercontinental Championship Match

Wade Barrett vs The Miz vs Dolph Ziggler.

Bad News Barrett returns for his championship versus the two guys who have been feuding over it for months.
It would be fun to hear the promos, and to watch the crowd go crazy for fan favorites, Ziggler and Barrett.
As much as I hate to say it, the Miz would probably retain the title the same way that he won it.
While Ziggler and Barrett showed off their fighting prowess in the middle of the ring, Miz would play possum somewhere off in the corner. Then a Zig-zag or a Bull hammer would be hit and a skull crushing finale would seal their fate.
It's ugly, and I don't like it, but that's how the championship works sometimes.

Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins... For the Money in the Bank briefcase.

YEAH.
That would be so awesome.
I have to admit, when the Shield broke up, I worried about how the members not named Roman Reigns would do.
Then Dean Ambrose cut that first promo.
PHEW. He was intense, he was graphic, he brought the heat. and almost immediately got over.
His rivalry with Rollins has been intense and truly enjoyable.
I'd love to see these two fight with a championship or something on the line.
something...
like...
the Money in the bank briefcase.
I don't think they ever meant for Ambrose to get this over, and if I can be honest, I think he's more over than Roman Reigns is.

Evolution Elimination Fatal-Fourway

If the creative team likes to revive this stable, so why not do it in a way that everyone can get behind.
Put Batista, Triple H, Randy Orton, and Ric Flair in the squared circle and put the "mystery" to rest once and for all.
The obvious issue here is that Flair is hardly in wrestling shape.
But why not give him the old "Jerry Lawler" treatment.
Let him get a few punches in, let somebody sell that the ol' figure-four and then eliminate him.
There are a number of ways you could handle it from there.
You could have Randy Orton and Batista team up on Triple H for treating them like lap dogs over the last few months.
Or, depending how you set it up, the COO and one of his protegee's could attack whoever turned face.

An example- Orton gets tired of getting paired with Kane and being the Authority's tool, so he breaks off on his own and becomes that vicious viper that we all love so much.

Another example- Batista comes back from his "Guardians" hiatus and demands the one on one title match he was promised back before the Royal Rumble. Triple H refuses, as between Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins, the authority is well represented in the championship picture. When he doesn't get his title, he storms off. Later, in a Rollins vs. Ambrose match, Batista emerges from nowhere and powerbombs Rollins (because the WWE made it perfectly clear that we can't get Ambrose vs Rollins).

It this scenario, I think Batista turning face is much more likely, so he would grapple with both Orton and Hunter, eventually eliminating Orton.

Leaving just Batista and Triple H.

It would be an incredible match, but I think Triple H would come away with the win.
It's disappointing, but Batista has come out and said that he wants his retirement match to be against Hunter at the stage of the immortals, and I think he still has a year left.

Triple H stands tall above Batistia, preferably with a sledgehammer, and the crowd boos, even though they know they just saw an incredible match.

A Family Matter.

The Rock vs Roman Reigns.
If it's too soon for Roman to be WWE Champion, why not give him a massive Wrestlemania match?
Why not let him fight his own cousin, the Rock?
It would be an intense match, and I can't help but think that Dwayne would let his cousin win so that he could be the number one contender in a crowded and talented championship picture???

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match

Brock Lesnar versus Bray Wyatt.
Right??

This would be crazy!
Paul Heyman cutting promos versus Bray?
What if the Wyatts kidnapped Heyman? Watching Brock struggle on the mic? Could that make him a sympathetic character??
And what a weird match it would be?
An immovable object colliding with an unstoppable force?
Who more justified to face off with the man who beat the Undertaker than the guy they call "the new undertaker?"
It would be a crazy fun match to watch, and an awesome match to set up.
And then... Why not let Bray win? Let Bray become WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and then Brock can go back into hiding until Summer Slam.

Bray wouldn't have to be champion for long, in fact...
What if Daniel Bryan came out right after the match and made it known that he was after his belts?!
YES! YES! YES!

John Cena vs. Hulk Hogan

This match is an obvious one.
Hogan has said that this is the one last match he would have with the WWE before hanging up the boots for good, and this match would sell easily.
The promos would be boring and would irritate most smarks, but the kids and fans who only tune in once a year would get a kick out of it.
Obviously Cena would win, because it's Cena, and the creative team has no idea how to do anything differently with his character.
No, it's not the main event, the main event is something that smarks have been clamoring for ever since it was hinted at a few years ago...

CM Punk vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin

Could you imagine?
Let's just say that Raw is in Texas, maybe at Houston's "Toyota Center", and Stone Cold is advertised to appear.
All night long, Jerry the King Lawler and company are talking up Stone Cold as one of the "best champions the WWE ever had"
*Glass Breaks*
Stone Cold strides to the ring, a beer in each hand, swaggering around the ring and stands next to Renee Young.
Renee asks him how it feels to be considered one of the greatest champions of all time, and as he is about to answer...
"Static"
Cult of Personality hits and the crowd goes insane.
The man who once held the title for 434 days takes his time before he walks out and looks over the packed arena. He flashes that trademark smirk and lets the WWE universe know what time it is.
The promos between these two would be incredible. The two are so very different, but have so much in common.
Both were anti-authority, both said whatever they wanted, and both walked out on the company.
However, one is Avenged Sevenfold, and the other is Lynyrd Skynyrd. One always has a beer in hand, the other has never sipped a beer in his life.
You could sell that angle for months, teasing and promoting while they both get back into wrestling shape.
As for who wins, that's a tough one.
Stone Cold has said that he is 50/50 on whether he has one more match in him, and even if it is the main event of Wrestlemania, I'm not sure he'd come back to lose.
But I also don't know if Punk would come back just to lose in the main event that he's been pursing for almost 5 years.
Ultimately, I give the nod to Stone Cold.
Many people have said that Punk vs Undertaker was one of the best matches of his career, and it didn't take anything away that he lost.
Punk can rebound and immediately insert himself into the title picture from that point.
